MgA. Markéta Daňková (Štefková)
She wrote about herself:
„Since the beginning of my studies, I have been dealing mainly with figurative painting. I paint flat with acrylic paints in soft pastel shades. In the first years, I focused on real characters and painted based on photography, but subsequently my work relaxed and took on a more expressive form. I have always relied on what I know, so my family, siblings and myself were my work’s source. I come from a Catholic family, so in some way faith has also been reflected in my work. I depict the mental and spiritual side of my Self and explore the boundaries between the sensual body and the elusive soul. Thus, the figures in the paintings get out of reality and abstractions are created, composed of pure coloured areas, which I intuitively put side by side; however, they still stash the figure inside.”
